With the start of a new year for TX14 - 2010, I hope to find everyone thinking of getting back in the groove of barrel racing. I am asking for everyone to keep a few things in mind all year long: Please make an effort to help out in all aspects of the organization, especially barrel setting, take a friend out in the arena with you, visit and make it fun instead of a chore. Ask and see if there is any help needed. Remember, I do not require members to work for anything, don’t make me start. If you have an idea for a good fund raiser that helps out with year end awards, please share them with me and be ready to step up and help. If there are new places that you wish to hold a barrel race, please call me and again be ready to step up and help. Let’s not leave the burden of just a few to do all the work. I am going to address a problem that has been complained about at some races. I must insist that all dogs be put on a leash when you arrive. I can no longer have loose dogs running around the grounds, the alley way or the arena. This is a safety problem and it should be done as a courtesy to your fellow barrel racers anyway, not everyone or every horse is used to having dogs runs loose around them. If you can not abide by this request, you will be asked to leave the barrel race, please do not make me do this. There will be no exceptions. Members remember that you must make 8 races to be eligible for year end awards. This is to reward members that support the organization and I appreciate each one of you that do so. Let’s make this another great year for our district because I just love it when I get compliments from others that come to our races and tell me we are the kindest most encouraging group of barrel racers they know! So, everyone get ready to “Come run & have fun with TX14” Your Director, Wendy Wilson 940-631-2936 |
